Default transmitters

I need to replace my transmitter radio any suggestions? I'll be using this with a aeromarine avenger. I'm currently looking at Spektrum DX2.0 Radio w/servos from funrcboats.com.
Here's the url

If you are going the Spectrum way,make sure its DSM2 technology,that linked one 'aint,thats probably why its reduced in price.
This one is DSM2 and works ok on water.;

Several recent threads on this topic. Be easy on yourself and go for that 2.4 FASST from Futaba, you'll never look back.

Thanks for the recommendations I'm hoping I don't have to replace the radio I'm going to my LHS tomorrow and I'm gonna pick up another receiver and try that first. I think some water got into my radio box I didn't have my receiver in a ballon, bad idea.

Futaba 3PK or 4PK FASST either or....

Here's a thought I borrowed from the RC Truck world, and trust me, they are waterproof. I use them in my trucks and the boats.

Been reading the posts about the spektrum issues..I have a dx3 and the newest dx3r.. so far so good no problems on the water BUT. I run all my antenaes out the top of the hull and aparently not everyone does this and somebody in one of the threads mentioned line of sight and that due to the wave shape from the spektrum radios there antenae needs to be vertical not layed down inside the hull...and spektrum has a new receiver just for marine coming soon but so fa mine works fine but like I said all my antenaes exit the top of the hull..might loose a little asthetics but I think I gain it all back with good function

If price is a concern, I'm sure you've seen this one. towerhobbies.com/products/towj0224.html. Or the one I recommend... www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p, less than $200

I was looking at the transmitter from towerhobbies do you know if HiTec servos would fit the receiver? Are servo plugs universal?
