Default WHH Water Pump

I have a WHH Boat with a clutch and water pump. Iwas running the boat on a bench yeaterday and noticed that when I reved the engine the flow of water seemed to slow down. Is that normal ? When I run it in the lake will the force of the water through the pick-up help the pump cool the engine?? thanks

Yes that is normal. The pump is not mechanical it uses the pulse from the crankcase to drive a diaphram. Basicly as you rev the diaprham can not keep up.

On the water the speed of the boat will overcome the pulse anyway and flow more water then the pump at idle.
