Default WHH Magnum 57 or Aeromarine Apache 56

I'm interested in either a Warehouse hobbies Magnum 57 or an Aeromarine Apache 56 with twin motors. Priced pretty equally I’m interested in hearing views on which would be a better (subjectively certainly) boat to have. Fun, ability to handle rough water, ease of use, reliability, drivability etc.

Could you not go wrong with either, or is one clearly a better boat?

Thanks for your insight,

Joel

PS: The Aeromarine Apache 56 is used and listed in the adds section, the Magnum 57 would be new (currently on sale ~$300 off) both being priced nearly the same.

While I love my magnum, and I think it would handle those speeds I'm just not sure. It would take some work to fit twins side by side in the magnum. You will have more room to work with in the apache, and it may be better designed for speeds over 50mph. But I really don't know much about that. All I do know is, unless your going for inlines, I think it will be much easier to work on the apache, as it has a nice big opening. Just my $0.02

I'm sorry, to clarify the Magnum 57 would be a single, just as it would come from WHH RTR. The Apache is a twin.

I would go with the WHH Magnum if it was my choice. A used boat and engines may be a great deal or it could be a p.i.t.a. Twins also seem to be twice the headaches. I have watched a guy in Ocala, Fl. run a twin outrigger and I have watched one engine or the other die between startup and hitting the water at least five times. I must say once he had them both running it was mighty fast. I would still prefer the Magnum. Dennis

I would recommend the Mag 57 w/ the old school hatch with the new RMCK engine. Almost 5hp stock. Its gonna be tight for if at all for twins in the Mag 57. Tony also sells the RMCK.

I would recommend the Magnum w/ RCMK or Zen 260-Mod 5; Just make sure you get the EZ-Start; greatest thing since sliced bread.

Apache; Don't know never owned one; Twin engines; Duh- Two spark plugs, two gas tanks, twice the fuel, two props; nice and impressive but double everything except speed. One is enough to keep going. Unless money is no object then it is whatever floats your boat.

Used boat- No custome service if problems or issues arise, warranty as is.

WHH- Call Tony he will make it right or help you out. Great person to do business with.

Just my .02.

Thanks all for the input. I'll be placing my order this week for the Mag57 with old school hatch and M5, will be looking into the RCMK.

Thanks again!
