i was thinking and i whated to know what would happen if i put a .21 engine in my Nitro Hammer. would it raddle the boat and make the hull crack? or not do anything at all? how much faster would it make it go? what about a .18?
i was looking at a .21 engine something like this:

^ would that fit? would i have to make a water cooling head or could i use the one that is already on my NH?

The one i showed ya is the same as the one your looking at, except One comes with a recoil starter. I would highly recommend a new tuned pipe for the powerplant. Your Nitro Hammer should be able to handle it, only thing is that i would look at upgrading your prop to a nice new Octra prop.

OK, where do I start? The hull might take the extra power for a while but it's pretty thin for any serious .21 motor. You'd have to modify the motor mount. The driveline should be upgraded also as the little 1/8" shaft ain't gonna get it. You won't be able to put a large prop under the hull that you're going to need. Converting to a surface drive set-up would be he next step. Yeah, you'll have to toss the tuned pipe out with the motor. don't forget to install a larger fuel tank, you'll want 8-10 oz. in there.
The radio box should be fine if that helps at all.
Alternative. Get a killer .12-.18 motor and it'll bolt right in. Just remember, fully threaded crank and rotary carb then get plenty of air to the heat-sink.

wow. so i guess i'll get a .18. i was looking at the Cen NX-18. i think that will be a good one for my NH. i need a new tuned pipe if i get the engine. what one would you suggest?

You'll be disappointed with the CEN .18 as it's actually slower than what you have. It's only rated at around 21,000 RPM. An O.S. .18 might do the trick as it has the fully threaded crank, pull-start and rotary carb but it's air-cooled. My LHS is selling them for $130.00, not too bad.

I go to the riders hobby shop in grand rapids, but I've been to the one in flint, Right now Riders Hobby shop in Grand Rapids has no nitro boats so I have to wait to buy one.
