sweet. post some pics if you do repair the floor. chances are that if its greyish colour under the plastic , then you may have to pull up the rotton parts and make a new floor for it same way i did. if you do have to then use some windex and wipe the nitro fuel off.... hopefully my buddy can make me an aluminum tank and exhaust for back. if he does i will post pics of the new tank and exhaust ... good luck with the teardown and repair. as for the rest of my boat my decals and guys should be painted and on maybe tommorow. , but final assembly of the engine and elecs wont be till i get a tank ....

yeahm its not soft yet, but was cracked when i got it and I just epoxied enough of it to run safely, got the orange on tonigt, will apply a second coat before bed(now) and then do the black tomorrow so maybe later tomorrow ill have pics, also like i mentioned an airplane style tank will work nicely, most raceboats use them(a small one about the size of the original)...I'd avoid aluminum wherever possible, these boats already have to fight alot of wieght so any more is only gonna hurt performance more, stock i think they only make 20mph or so, mine is cruising in between 25-30 somwhere right now, Id like to get a solid 30 out of it, I also may look into removing the stock turn fin and addingm twin aftermarket ones, cuz I have spun mine out and it scares the crap outta ya when it does(i think it will roll every time it does it) so go easy on the steering when your getting used to it do to the steerable outdrive...hopefully mine will be done totally very soon...should have teverything but the repair work done tomorrow...

didnt get there yet, as i said it is still runable, but its more so a problem of a long crack than rotted material so I think a little patch will do fo it, but im def. gonna clean it out good, as for making fins, till I buy aluminum, cut it, bend it, drill i can buy a set cheap and know they are right...or maybe a set of carbon fiber ones....hmm...ill have to think bout it, just hoping to get the paint done tonight, I wont be painting the drivers and they arnt ever used...I let that open when I run, more airflow into the engine compartment to cool it, feed it, and also help keep the pipe a little cooler under the cowling...hasnt been a problem yet...

Well,

I can not say I am a Nito Vee person, as the pictures you are seeing from Nito_veedriver is my old boat!

Looks like you have some very cool changes to the boat! You are going to have a great time with it! I still prefer the air, but the boat is always fun to drive.

One mod I did see when I first got the boat was to put two fins on instead of the one in the middle. The pictures I saw had them towards the outside of each side on an angle so they grabbed better in the corners. Looked like a cool idea other than more drag.

I don't remember where I saw it though.

Hope you enjoy and that you get out there soon!

Craig

well, even before mine came home.. i had plans on changin it... so i looked up on google search for paint jobs of nitrovees, saw some wicked ones, but didnt want to do those ones. so when she came home i painted and fixed abunch of stuff on it. still have a leak tho. but not from under the boat. its where the prop shaft is, i think i'll have to epoxy around the rubber to stop the leak so now i gotta buy more epoxy.... bummer but at least i found out before the lake.....got one decal on it so far custom made of course. trailer is getting somemore decals too. 1 more for the boat and the fixing will be done. then its just a tank and new exhaust hose as well as the exhaust. i took the water out and moved it to side of boat in the general area that you have it in. just need to epoxy that into place.i had the exact same button that you had but i cut mine flat instead of being pointed.so now it sits flush with the side and mine is a little higher then yours.
i will post pics when i get up tonight as i have to work ....

lol who knows, maybe the other nitrovees will pop in here or maybe we will get offers to scoop them up from people that just dont like them. we are very enthused about these boats . i am very happy with mine for sure. so far we both have very good lookin boats . we should actually email traxxas with all that we have done to get these boats to where they are today....maybe we'll get through to them what mistakes they have made lol i still have 2 more decals to go on and thats advertising for my decal guy. no go on the new boat club as of yet, but hopefully as summer nears us i hope to get people into my club....
