I wouldnt add anythign to the front of it. Try making sure that the strut or cetner of the prop is level with the bottom of the sponsons first off. This might solve all your problems.

turn fin angles and adjustments can change the way the boat rides to. With the stock fin my vegas was glued to the water pretty well. I tried putting on a spare proboat llumar turn find and that has the front comeing up off the water slightly on the straits and its more foregiving to left rudder input also. Overall I like that turn fin better but will try a grim finn when they are available.

Try lowering the prop depth. That should load the front sponsons. When the boat is operating properly, the sponsons should just barely touch the water.

I did add a 1/2 oz. of lead weight with two sided tape to the front center of the Miss Vegas...this increased my weight in the front as I run low on fuel...making it so i can stay in the trottle close to run out....also pushed the rudder at a slight outward angle from the back of the boat...with a netural tail fin...also make sure your prop is in dead line with the bottom of the sponsons, with just a bit of negative angle...but honestly it is trail and error....

buy a lifter prop they are designed to push the nose of hydros down heres a link to the best one for the vegas this will solve your whole problem and it won't causse the boat to plow either it will be almost out of the water, up front it will be just skimming plus lifters have a lot of pitch and it will increase your top speed.

http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=dh-aqub9755

p.s.-even though it says to you do not have to balance this prop it is already nearly perfectly balanced if you are a speed freak you can follow this guide to balance it.

http://manuals.hobbico.com/aqu/prop_sharp-bal_guide.pdf

and if you really, really want more speed buy and install this you will have to add a pressure fitting to it though so don't just install it and try to run take it to your hobby shop and have a pressure fitting installed that is the little gold nipple you see coming out of the side of the pipe it uses exhaust pressure to drive the gas into the carb so have the hobby shop install it and then just connect the tubing to it here is the link Good Luck! the Stock engine will not turn an L45x68 prop, too big and too much pitch.

WHO is this guy?
The same one who asserted the following about .21 outboards "although heavier the Thunder Tiger outperforms all other stock unmodified engines on the market".

Oh yeah, My Vegas does fine with that prop but i am running a macs pipe and header with a water cooling coil on the header (which surprisingly increased the rpms)plus i have engine porting done and it has also been machined and has an upgrade cylinder head other than that the engine can push it with upgrades mine was dino tested at 3.2hp. pretty good for a .18.

Can we ask what is the speed you are reaching with your Vegas?

Ludicrous speed....

When I read his post yesterday, I just left it alone. I was guessing he is associated with "that company" and was trying to do some false advertising for them... 3.2 HP out of a aquacraft .18 motor... LOL!
