had this thing in the water twice.. put some holes in the top tunnel to get air in.. Will fire up no problem.. plenty of torque.. etc.. until i put the canopy on.. seems like it's starving for air.. any suggestions?.. All Stock......... stalls out and no power once in the water.. thanks.

Are the factory precut holes there? It may not have been punched out. I doubt that is you problem. Mine kept stallin but finally have goten rid of that problem after 5 tanks. It just needs to break in. Mine constantly stalled out first tanks and would go about 5 MPH max. Just try and run some tanks through it, it should get better.

yeah the three holes are there at the top of the tunnel.. could it be running too rich? I don't see any smoke running outta the exhaust pipe.. and like i said.. she started moving out really good once in a while then die out.. I was thinking of running a tube from the intake to a bucket of water to break it in that way so I keep the head cool.

If you do not see smoke coming out of the exhaust tube you are too lean.

I have one and I think I had it tuned pretty well when I was running it. Though I never saw any smoke.
I cut out the entire black piece to allow cool air into the cowl. Never had any problems with water.

well this thing i don't think is broken in too well so it's a pain to chase it all the time on the lake.. I made a tub for it to test and tune.. but no real good results.. I might go the hpi .15 or .18ss route if the mounts match up on the .18
