Default .12 Engine?????

OK another question, Bare with me guy's. I just got a OS 12 CV Hyper w/10A carb of ebay. Motor is in great condition. But I have or I think I have one problem. The carb is a slide carb not a rotary. This wont work will it? Any suggestions? If it will work do any of you have a picture of a rig with the linkage connection?

Thank's
Mark the inboard newbie.

I will bear with you but not bare with you.
The Slide carb can be used but it's just a little harder to set up but not that bad. The cure can be as close as your spare parts box. A sevo armwith the 4 arms will do. Remove 2 of them so that you only have them at 90 degrees to each other. From the carb to the arm you'll probably have to go with a ball-link setup but from the arm to the servo, it's up to you as you can use your favorite way from there.
Sorry, I don't have any pictures showing the setup as we did it on a friends boat.
Look at some of the slide carbed onroad cars to get kind of an idea of how it's done.

Thats what I thought the setup would be like. I think I'll just put it back on Ebay and buy a new one. Sorry about the bear thing I would not want to be bare with you either.

The slide carb linkage wouldn't be that bad if you have the room, in a 'rigger or hydro it would be really tight to do. The one that I worked on was in an Aeromarine Cat hull so we had plenty of room.

I would think you could find someone with a junk engine that would sell the carb off it cheap...

I sold my OS carb a while ago otherwise I'd sell it to you. I had a guy turn down a .21 Nova Rossi carb to fit mine and that really woke it up! If you're going to buy another OS carb you might want to see if one from an .18 will fit on it as the block boss throat is 13mm if I remember correctly.
We can run any size carb that we want as opposed ot the car and truck guys as they're limited by ROAR rules to a 5.5mm carb bore.
