Default Flex Cable Question

Refresh my memory. Does the flex cable lengthen or shorten when spun at high rpms?

Thanks,

Craig

shortens.

That is why we leave a gap between the drive dog and the strut/stinger that is at least as wide as the diameter of the cable...so when it shortens it does not bind up.

There are some cables that are wound the other direction...and they would lengthen if run on a nitro engine...but I would bet that would not last, and might take something else out with them. They are made for electric motors (I think).

I would say that the cables wound in the other direction would be for running 2 motors, one with a counter rotation. Not sure but that would be my guess.

I leave about 1/8th" gap.
