So while deciding on my paint colours/scheme for my hydro, I though to myself "How can I make this thing look cooler, lighter and more streamlined?" then it hit me.
I have done foam molding before and decided to start making my own cowl for my boat.
here are the plans:
step 1: Shape foam to desired look/shape (Easy, 1/2 done)
step 2: Make sure the damn thing will fit (Not so easy)
step 3: Cast the foam mold in something to create a negative of it (getting easy again)
step 4: clean up mold (Sand, etc)
step 5: lay fibreglass inside the mold (Not sure how to do this as I have never layed fibreglass before)
step 6: clean edges of new cowl (Sand, cut, etc)
Does this sound right? How would I make the fibreglass not stick to the inside of my negative mold?
I will get pictures up (Camera is not handy) to show everyone the foam cowl so far.
