Ok we did some test runs with ours. maily Joe drove it and getting it dialed in for me. On sunday we took at huffys pond since the guys from driftwood club was pratcing thereand that where celina has there races there...Had some troubles getting it to go.. his friend drove it since we arnt IMPBA members yet. He had to turn it left and right to break her free, got her to dance alittle bit.. Had a 437/3 on it..Joe took a 440/2 from zip and filed it down to 37mm. we couldnt run it at the pond today because people were swimming. So we took it to stmarys beach 2.. boy after three runs trying to get her dialed it she came of fire! Joe took the corner to sharp and flip it up in the air and landed upside down..lol!! The the park police shows up! He thought Joe was doing a water test in our lake.! Joe told his he was running my boat here since huffys pond had people swimming in it so we came here. Joe told him that we been running boats here for two years..When nobody is swimming we run the boats.Told him we should be running here..Joe said when nobodys is swimming we run them, but whem sombody wants to swim we stop running our boats. In the way the officer was nice about it.. Joe asked him if he can run it one more time. Said sure. He got a kick out of it... So tonight Joe just took alittle smig off the prop and ran her at huffys pond tonight. after two runs joe got her very very close to dialed it. She fast.. need long running room the run her.. Joe ran her on the beach side of the pond just in case she died out on him and we have no retreval boat plus it not deep there too...third and forth runs she came on fire!! Joe drove her in a small oval and circles..Got to keep on the throtle. seams like if you go to half throtle your losing your plane and can be alittle bit of work to get her back up on plane again. but we're making progress..and joe got better in launching the rigger too. Got 4-5 tanks burn thew the engine. Going to order one of Mark shouds 1440 props.

Yeah it was a pretty easy heat, if you want to see some tight racing look at some of the other vids I have up on youtube. Miss H glad to hear your getting it dialed in, they are definately a hoot to drive.

Amkax, is that a combination hinge pin/pickup tube? If so, the final setup should be having the bevel further up.

Posting this for amax as yahoo has issues, here is a size comparison with the zipp rudder mine is actually about 1/16 shorter off the transom than the zipp, it just looked long in the pics due to the length of the bracket ruler in the picture is an imaginary transom.

Thanks Yota

Yea that's my pick up tube Ron, I just stuck it in to get a pic of the rudder. I haven't decided if I want that or a j tube and just put a pin in the hinge.

Nice run jmy2u,,[8D]

Miss H glad to see ya got yours kickin. I hope to get mine on the pond one of these days,,, if I can quit customizing Stuff.

Miss Hydro, are you running a new engine (still being broke in)?

The reason I ask, I've never had to zig zag once (unless I had caught some weeds) to get up on plane.... so I'm wondering why (you shouldnt have to do this on a launch - even a poor one).... but I've never tried the props your trying.

That pic up hinge is a real clean setup . TT them rudder blades are a real sweet setup I like the mount on the side as to the transom. Look's pretty lite also. A fine job

Once its going and you cut down the throtle to half she starts to lose plane. Just talk to Rod tonight and told him whats going on. Said 437/3 prop is alittle bit much for these .12's. Told Rod I'd filed down a zippkit 440/2 to 37mm and got better responce but when slowing down it lose plane. Told me to get marks 1440 prop on it and adjust the tune pipe 1/4" out. He said you need a small prop to wined out these.12. But he's glad we're getting it going. Boy when she gets going its a screamer and a half. These babys need long running space to let them really lose.

Hmm, I may need to start thinking about bigger props then. I run the 437\3 in a much heavier boat, and have No Problem turning it with the .18.
JW if that engine is put together as tight as these go engines are, you need to get some run time on it and she will start to lite up soon. Another thing I do during break in is run Only Klotz Benol(Castor) for the first half a dozen tanks, Synthetic oil during break in is not a good idea, and I'm kinda Surprised it's not something you here more people talking about. Then again Not everybody mixes there own fuel either, another one I don't understand Why Not.

I might still be able to do it just not counter sink the side bolts just use some bolts with different heads Im limited to the CF as you cant buy this stuff so its measure 10 times cut once if I do..Right now Im working on my little plane adding color etc, test flights went great just hard to see an all white plane in the sky

I had to do some Fancy plumbing to work my way through the radio box, LOL.

So I could get over the steering servo

and then low enough that it didn't mess with my throttle linkage

Got my stuffing tube epoxied in

and made a cap for the back of the ski

and I made a new arm on the rudder to allow more rudder movement with less servo movement, so the linkage never gets in a bind trying to turn Hard Right.

Just a little heads-up on your plumbing job, it might be in the way of the triangular stock that you need to brace the top sheet with.

triangular stock, ron dont tell me after all these years in boating your using balsa as a brace-especially when the grain of the balsa goes right along the seam your trying to support
