deflections in flex drive

My Feedback: (1)
I bought it to try out for use as a retrieve boat but actually the little thing is fun! I'd run the battery pack dead before I would have a chance to see how it did though. I gound out that some of the hot-shot racers got some of those to mess around with. My son got to play with Phil Thomas' ZZR after a race way before I got mine. It probably hasn't seen water in 3 years. I'd take it with me for kids to play with as you can't kill the thing.

Ball socket couplers are designed for solid shafts. Do not use them on a flex shaft. Only use a flex coupler. Like Ron says, it will allow the flex cable to move.

I'll try to explain this a little more.
Most of our engines are made in Europe; Rossi's, Nova Rossi's, CMB's, you get the idea. Seeing that how on that side of The Big Pond, a few of their classes like FSR-V use subsurface drives and use a solid shaft so many of the engines already come equipped with the ball coupler. On this side of the pond we generally don't use a solid shaft with the exception of some RTR boats. With my past experience with RC cars and trucks, this type of joint generally doesn't last long either as they wear quickly. It is also a source for electrical noise (metal-on-metal rubbing) if they aren't well-greased.

It wasn't the paint exactly that was the problem. I wish that it was that simple. I'll have to tell you sometime on YIM.
