My day running was fun,the .21 CMB goes 5 laps and stalls out in the same spot on the pond. [:@]
I Cked the tank for leaks, no leaks. So it's a engine problem. I'm thinking rod on it's way out??? I will look inside the CMB .
I MAY swap out the engine and run the hull
I didn't want to break in a new engine. But the NR35+21 will go in. I kinda wanted the save the engine.
I kinda liked my odds with the CMB ,Craig always thinks I'm faster I like that!!![:@] We did go at it last week and he ran away. But I was testing a small prop. [X(] Were close I think.
Wait till Craig gets his .45 going. Yee Ha

hey guys... had fun at pond today!! seeing neils jae .21 run made me put mine back in box... wholly cow is that fast!! thanks for all the help and thanks neil for the goodies... guess i will make a hawk run first and get used to a fast boat  before i put together the zippkit... rather rip a sponson off that before a b/n boat!! i will set up the 2 older riggers and burn lots of fuel, then try the animal!!! maby by then i can get a competitive engine for it and try some competition.... probably leave the old outboard running full hull in water so our kids can get used to boating and get lots of practice so they dont beat me up right away... darn kids.. nimble fingers etc.etc.. better eyes faster reactions, they will be beating thier dad in no time!! both boys are interested older one leaving for alfred state next week so he wont be around as much, but hope to get our youngest into hobby early... he wants to run boats and fly planes like his dad..lol... thanks again, hope to see you all again soon. will get ahold of you craig when ops comes and will probably bug you about what to get for best set-up..[8D]

Bob, I can actually see where you gave it some left after the right turn and then the flip. Is that the Cajun Bullet?

Bill, Yea driver error... It's a JAE set up a little different than the instructions. Trying a new set up.

Tom, Great vids!!! Neil...the .21 JAE looks like it is running great. How much fuel is in the tank when it stalls? What does the plug look like. I doubt that a rod issue would cause the stall...I'd look at the clunk or tube you are using in the tank to make sure it can draw the fuel down. (I assume the clunk or tube is in the left rear corner of the tank and you have the stopper at the back of the tank to get the lines as short as possible????) If there is plenty of fuel in the tank, I'd try richening it up a couple of clicks. Roger

Great videos Cindy!! Thank You!!

Neil, I'd throw the NR in the JAE 21. You've got 2 weeks before Ottawa and that CMB was doing weird stuff. We had the needle everywhere and it ran great some times and then not so much. Never could do 12 laps, one time it ran 7 very fast laps, but that's not quite enough.

Roger, Neil has a Walt Barney tank in his JAE 21. It was acting up with the fuel full. The engine runs strong and then dies at the same exact spot....

Craig & Neil...maybe you should try strapping in an 8oz Sullivan flex tank that has a solid pick-up in the left rear corner and a vent tube in the 'bubble' just to see if the tank makes any difference. The boat looked like it was running great. I'm thinking if it had bad bearings or an air leak, it would not maintain a good rpm for very long. Roger

Have to agree with Roger. If the bearings were bad, you would not be able to hold a needle. The Walt Barney tanks usually have a trap built into the left rear corner and the pickup goes there. Wonder if the tube has a crack in it?

I will put a 6oz tank in and see. I've HAD good luck with the CMB until now. Braking in a new engine [:@] That stalling was in Elmira last race. Same spot. Gotta be a fuel problem. Needle ??? why ?? I will bring the old needle with me. And test one thing at a time
. I'm glad I have friends thanks guys. .

Good idea Roger!

Neil, the .21 NR should break-in easier than the .12's do.... The next time you come out, bring the NR and be prepared to swap it in if the Sullivan tank does not work. Try to get an 8 oz. Sullivan tank. The 6oz. will not be enough.

That's easy. Zippkit's .45 JAE rigger.

When deciding between first building the Hawk or JAE 21 remember the JAE 21 needs absolutely no setup time to get it running good. The JAE design works great for beginners.
