I am relatively new to the glow side of R/C, I have many electric aircraft, but have almost retired them once I got introduced into glow. I started with the Sky Raider Mach 1, seems possible I started off a little lean, but it is very stable and easy to control. Loops and rolls, a little inverted flying and a lot of touch an go's. I have logged 25 flights on it now, and decided it was time to get another plane so off I went to the local hobby store and there I saw it, a bright yellow low wing size 46 (CG Tiger 2) and now its mine.
Its a blast to fly about 30% faster than my Raider, handles a little different but not too much. I have logged 8 flights with it as of today and now am putting my Raider up for sale.
I cannot decide what to get as a replacement for it, I dont know and 3D at this time but I think it would be a blast. Warbirds also peak my interest as do many others including the Shrike's.
I would like to hear what my fellow flyers think..

The Tiger II is one of the best sport aerobatic airplanes out there, so anything you get for that type of flying will be more of the same. To round out your stable, you will need a 3D airplane (Twist), a warbird (Hanger 9, pick one), a pattern plane (Venus) and a seaplane (Seamaster). Then you might try a twin (Twinstar) and a bipe (Stearman or Ultimate).
You can do these in any order you like and when you are done, you can start refining your choices in the areas you like best.
Note, in any catagory, bigger flies better. That is why the sport scale warbirds are almost always 60 size or bigger. You will be happiest with the largest size you can afford, transport and store.

yeah, something 60 size or bigger would fly good, i have a 60 size world models super chipmunk that flies great, it does all of the maneuvers except for the 3d stuff, a good 3d plane would be the funtana 90, or a good warbird would be a mustang thats about 60 size, if you want an aerobatic bipe than get an ultimate, whatever suits your liking though.

Everybody should own an Ultimate biplane at some time. The Goldberg Ult is a great one. It will fly fine with cheap servos and an inexpensive Super Tigre .90. I have had one in my hanger for 10 years. I still take it out and don't get bored flying it. I am on my second one and it's a kit. the ARF should fly just as well.

If you don't need the money, you might think about just storing the trainer for now, they do come in handy when you want to let someone fly it or just have something to goof around with on a calm Sunday afternoon after a hard work week. ENJOY !!! RED

I agree on keeping the trainer.
You won't get too much money for it if you sell it used and it's great to have a trainer in your fleet.
As you get better at flying you can wring that trainer out and make it fly really good.
-Good for relaxing flying
-Have friends buddybox on it to try RC flying
-Break in new engines in it
-Back up when everything else is crashed/malfunctioning.
-Rebuild it to a twin, night flier, candy bomber, camera plane etc.. etc..
I have a LT40 trainer and it comes with me to the field alot. I like relaxed flying and quite enjoy this plane.
Actually tonight I mounted a brand new Magnum 52 fourstroke on it and I plan to break it in on this plane.
(The original OS 52 was moved to a SSE earlier so the trainer had a vacant engine spot for the new Magnum)

Went out today to break in the new Magnum .52fs.
It started right away and after four tanks of fuel on the ground I took it up.
Mounted in the trusted LT40 trainer it ran great and reliably....
The trainer is a great "test bench" for new engines, I trust it totally and know it very well so I ran the tank dry in the air and deadsticked in for all four flights.
All in all a great day here in wintery Finland (-4 degrees celcius and sunny blue skies)
...Bottom line, keep your trainer, you'll regret it if you don't
