Let's See Your SlowPokes
Here are the two SlowPokes I have built. The Swiss one I built and covered for my neighbor and the British one I built and covered myself. I have another neighbor in the process of building his in a Portuguese Navy Training scheme. We will soon have a training fleet. These two SlowPokes are numbers 3 and 4. The first two were both ARF's. One had the horizontal stabilizer fly off during flight and the other was involved in a midair. Anyway here are mine, LET'S SEE YOURS!!

Here's my Slowpoke 40, kit built. It flies with an OS 52 Surpass 4-stroke engine. It's got over 400 flights on it now.
As you can tell from the pictures, I'm a bit of a Cardinals fan!! The graphics are all cut from Monokote.

That's something I forgot to mention. The Swiss one has an OS .52 four stroke and the British one has a Saito .56 four stroke. Both good engines for this model.

Beautiful planes, guys. I was on the verge of building a SlowPoke for a Magnum .30 4-stroke that is currently not in use. At the last minute, however, I opted to build a Speedy Bee instead and hope to be starting on it in the near future. You never know, though, I might have to add a SP to the build list as well.

RE: Let's See Your SlowPokes
Here's a fun Slow Poke project I did a couple years back. I first built the kit version adn flew the heck out of it and then I decided that the Slow Poke design would work in and enlarged version so I decided to enlarge it by 150%... the wingspan turned out to be 90" and the wing chord was 27"!!! It hasn't flown in the past two summers but what a great flier it was. It weighted 18 lbs and was powered with a MDS 218...I basically flew it at 1/2 throttle......it definately turned heads at the field......

That is awesome TOMMYSTA!! I also like the colors of the Slow Poke in the background. As you can tell, I like the military colors on the Slow Poke (hence the ones I covered), especially the trainers.

Does anyone know why they quit making the Slow Poke ARF? Were they just not popular enough, they seem pretty attractive to a lot of people.

I got out of flying for a few years, but retired last year. I had a couple of kits, but I wanted something easy to fly get back into the sport with so I bought a SloPoke 40. Biggest wing I ever did see.
I never could get the wind screen centered to my satisfaction, so I left it off. Also, does everyone have to add so much weight in the nose as I did? I had to put a LOT of lead in there to get to the recommended CG.
Powered by a Thundertiger 54 4 stroke.

I've heard that the ARF was less tail heavy but that may not be good info.

Very nice looking plane.
I did have a OS 48 Surpass on mine but it now has a Magnum 61 four stroke. I got by the nose weight problem by mounting the engine as far forward as I could. The battery is under the tank behind the firewall. I have a brass nose weight nut on the crankshaft.

I also mounted the engine as far forward as I could and placed the battery far forward. I still needed some lead weights. By the way, I really like your Slow Poke Roy!

RE: Let's See Your SlowPokes
This is my Slowpoke with a big RCV 91 CD 4-stroke - really suits the plane, plenty of Poke for Buzz to use.
Balances without stuffing the front end full of lead, and burbles along with just the right sort of power.

Anyone thought of a bi-plane? A Slow Pete&Poke! I have the Pete, which is a great plane. I wouldn't want to cut it up to make it a bipe and, I just can't see buying 2 kits right now. I guess there are always more options. I just don't know if my building skills are up for those yet.
