I have been reading posts for RC Chatrooms and RC groups.
It would be more convenient if it was not ChatClient based or MSN based.
I was thinking that some interested programmers can band up and get a good chatroom, tips board, etc that's all CONSOLIDATED. Many people have non-consolidated sites and RCU is a great resource as a forum. I was thinking we could get a site explicitly devoted to planes.
We can get everything working, have our code copylefted, etc.
If there are enough people I will volunteer and can help work on Visual Basic, Java, JavaScript, HTML, C, C++, IC, anything Linux/Unix/FreeBSD/etc., and help set up servers and work out TCP/IP kinks if any.

I was thinking about that, but ive seen many people attempt it. I think the only way it will succeed is if its featured in the front page of rcuniverse...

I am a well-versed PHP programmer, I will lend my skills to this if someone will agree to organize it. I run an online radio station (orbitalgrooves.com) with over 500 LIVE DJ's playing electronic music 24/7. I did all the backend coding for my site. I also can do SQL querying, I've designed databases & interfaces for DB's up to 500,000 entries. Please let me know if I can assist with this.

if you guys can put someting together that is slick I would entertain it. I'd need a proposal of how it would be implemented and integrated into our site. our forums are asp based and the rest is cold fusion.

I'll do it.
I am thinking that since it will be grafted onto RCU why not make it Everything (ie cars, planes, boats). Have the stuff split into six sections, one for each aspect of RC, and take the last section for general RCU discussion.
If you visit SourceForge.net, you might be able to find some interesting free code to graft onto our finished add-on for RCU. For example, there's Tiki-Wiki, but that won't be useful. Also we might be able to create a SourceForge project and expand the scope of programmers beyond just the people at RCU. Though the code won't be proprietary.
But I think I know how we can implement it from an End-User level (ie not the pseudocode or even the flowcharts..) We can, in the Planes section, add a part near the top of the page saying "Airplane Tips", then "Airplane Chat", then "Contribute to the Project" or whatever.
