Thanks Marc, I was using phpbb and then switched it over to yabb. YABB seems easier and quicker to configure or change. I will at a later date move it to vBulletin, when I get the money

i found asp to be a usefull tool. i got the forum idea from rcu and looked for a free asp forum. i forum several. asp seems easer to use than php and most forums are free. you coult try phpnuke if you can run php. you can add loads of modules to improve it or customise it.
