I think that once a user reaches a set number of post it should be disabled. I personally hate when I have to wait for 1 minute when I'm posting a few threads. I can see how it would stop spam but if the user has a bunch of good post and no negative feedback then there not likely to spam.

That sounds like a good idea, but post count does not necessarily mean a member wouldn't have bad intentions against RCU if one day they got upset for some reason. There have been members with 5 times your post count that would have liked to harm RCU on their way out the door. Unfortunately it's a safe guard we must ALL live with, myself included.

I agree with both of you. I sometimes get frustrated by the time limit when I'm trying to post, but at the same time Nathans concerns are completely real. I have seen members of all ages abuse their ability to post on many different web sites - sometimes causing real chaos.

I know that I occasionally get a bit peeved at the over-exuberance of moderators but there seems little point in biting the hand that feeds your addiction to online conversation is there?
Perhaps if RCU looked closely at the things which might cause someone to take such action it might be possible to reduce or eliminate the catalyst.
