Default st45 muffler

please help,

I'm from Croatia and my friend from California will bring to me st45gs with fault in muffler. One small hole cca 5mm length and less than 1mm width hole in muffler. this is probably manufacturer fault not transport fault. If I send it back to California and wait my friend to bring it back I will wait till next summer. can I put some epoxy in this muffler hole if epoxy can hold in that temperature ?

Thanks
Realdo

You can block the hole with high-temperature sealant, a screw, a rivet, and so on. It won't hurt it at all.

Epoxy resin may not take the temperatures of the exhaust gasses. "Liquid Aluminum" may work out. The main problem with sealers/glues/etc. is cleaning the muffler enough to allow them to adhere.

Since it's a new engine, has your friend given you the engine yet? If there's time available, we can send him a new muffler to replace the bad one. Just send an email with the address to:
