Need some help - newb with a 450XL & JR 9303
I just bought a Trex 450 XL with a lot of upgrades and spare parts. My dilemma is setting it up. I bought it from a friend who used a Futaba 14MZ; I'm using a JR 9303. I'm new to heli's but not to R/C in general (giant scale and warbirds). Can anyone who has this set up tell me what / how their radio set up is? I have flown the Blade CX and CP, but again using the radio that came with the heli. By the way, my 9303 is the airplane version, but it seems to have the heli software in it. If that makes sense? Thanks for any and all advise.

What info do you want? You can do a search for the 9303 heli version and locate the manual for free. That's how I set mine up. I've a SE, so I believe you have a 90 degree swash setup instead of 120 degrees? Find the manual, otherwise I can help you as much as I can. By the way, the radio is awsome with the TRex. It's nice to have remote gyro gain, and remote pitch gain, plus you'll love putting in 10% exponential to get rid of the twitches like you're used to on the CP.
I have the manual somewhere. If you can't find it via search, I can email it to you - just PM me.

On a good note, I do have the 120 swash plate. I also was able to get the heli setup and did some hovering today. I quess what I would like to know is, what are your throws and expo do you have set. This might help me get started a little safer.
Thanks for your help. I'll take your advise and do search for the heli version manual.

I'm using HS-65 Servos and have them set on the controls in the outside hole of the arm (there are two holes). All my radio inputs for throws are at 100%. Exponential for Ailerons are at 10%, Elevator 10%, and Rudder 20%, all + (positive exponential). I have modified the throttle and pitch curve to how I like it.

Here's the link to the manual for the heli version. It is exactly the same radio other than switch positions (I think). The software IS exactly the same though.

RE: Need some help - newb with a 450XL & JR 9303
I could use a little help with the 9303 as well. Ihave a 450se that I have been flying with a dx6. I am new to helis, but learning fast. When I first went to set up the 450 I found tons of setup that showed every setting to use with the dx6 and the 450se. It was not just pitch and throttle curves. It sure made my life easy until I was able to understand what it all ment. Now I have a 9303 and I do not see anything like what I found for the dx6. Dose anyone know where I could find someones entire setup? There is a big difference between radios and I would like to try it on my 450. I am building a 600 and want to understand how to use the radio

Are you going to use the 9303 on the 600 or on a 450 too??? I'd imagine the set up would be a little different, however, if you want, I can help out with the settings. What type of gyro - that'll make a difference too. I've got a 401.
