I was flying indoors this past Saturday with a friend and managed to wreck my Heli pretty nicely! Here is the footage:
http://s215.photobucket.com/albums/c...rash010508.flv
My friend and I did some field repairs and I managed to put 2 more packs through her before I decided to call it quits. Damage:
1. Main shaft
2. Feathering shaft
3. Flybar
4. Gorilla paddles
5. Tail rotor blades
6. Main rotor blades
7. Main gear
Here is that video:

I appreciate any and all feedback!

Better that post than your head! Is it an optical illusion or are you really hovering that close to yourself? I would take a few steps back and go for it again. Good Luck!

you know Rule #1 .... your just proved Rule #2 ... cant change rule 1 [:@]
sorry to see you crash ,, but we all add T-Rex parts to our local land fills ,,, I can say 1 thing i have never Crashed is my boats ,, unless you count grabbing air on nose and flipping makeing a 2D boat 3D
not counting crash ,,, your flying is really good and improving fast

Good job getting it back in the air so quickly. We all crash. It happens [
]
Also, just an FYI - It looks to me like you have your landing gear on backwards [X(]
Typically, they should 'sweep' toward the nose, not the tail as your are...

Brian,
I had to force Myself to watch Your crash video; I don't like that stuff happening, but I guess it's like driving by a wreck; You just have to look!
You've proven Yourself a good Re-builder Now. I hear You about Springtime!

I HATE support columns!
Sorry to see the crash ... but what did the support column have to do with it.
It appears you got out of tail-in and lost orientation/control. The heli was on it's way to the crash when it hit the column.
Let me guess ... you were just about to recover it when it hit the column ... yeah ... that's the ticket!!!

thats the same style crash i had in the shop too!, my heli was the same height and it went sideways like yours but it was going away from me but inbetween some highline cars so i just hit throttle hold instead of trying to recover and my wreck looked just like yours i just had more damage lol
hey Bry remember what we were saying in a thread last week [FLY IN OPEN SPACES] LOL
I just did some FFF in a open field and it was perfect, i had the chance to fly/hover in a somewhat tight space today and for the first time i passed lol im working on nose in but not in the tight spaces like i was when i was practicing tail in

Man, I had a crash like that involving a basketball hoop. I did the exact opposite and punched full collective trying to pullout. The sound of the blades trying to dig into the air and the following crunch sound it made as it vaporized still haunt me. I was able to fit my rex into a sandwich bag. I feel sorry for you guys who are grounded (or restricted to the indoors) cause of the weather. I'm in Southern California and have gotten some good flying weather this week. Keep it up Bry, you'll be doing tick tocks, tail slides and all that other fun stuff when spring hits.

No, I would have crashed anyway, it just would have not been so spectacular.
