Default Trex 450 identifiers

Can someone list or help explain the meaning of all the Trex 450 suffixes (such as X, XL, CF, SA etc.)?

TIA...RWW

Thanks JB1 but the thread really wasn't much help.

Now I have some [more] three letter abbreviations to learn... (HDE, etc.).

Not being rude but maybe I should do more research b4 asking I guess.

Is there a reason your asking for the definitions? I really dont think there are any or any that I have seen, knowing the definitions isnt going to tell you which one to buy

Thanks,

Then what''s the point of saying "Buy a 450 V2"?

Why have "450XL" in your equipment list/signature?

It means something.

I hope you see my point.

Okay, SE V2 is the latest greatest full aluminum and carbon heli, also referred to as V2. The SE is an older version of the V2. SA or S are plastic birds with aluminum frames. X, XL, and CF are all older models that I don''t know about. I know theres a billion threads on here asking the same thing, try the search for a better answer.

Well the thread that Jbolt directed you to explained pretty much everything, the XL, SE, SA are just different versions of the Trex, I have XL in my sig cause thats what I fly, and like like Nitrohog said the SE V2 has the alum upgrades where as with my XL I had to buy all the alum parts separate. No one obviously knows the exact definition of the abbreveations and that really shouldnt be of any importance to you, you should be concerned with how much you have to spend and what bird to get.

Like I said, get a TREX 450 V2, or, if you have a lot of bling, get a 500 or 600. If you''re rich, buy the real thing.

R, I looked at that web site and I actually yhink it gave a lot of good information. A great deal depends on where you are on the learning, performance curve. My rule of thumb is that when the machine is the limiting factor, then it''s time to upgrade. Since i couldn''t tell the difference between a carbon, aluminum or plastic frame, I couldn''t tell if it was money well spent or not. The advice I got was to get very good electronics, so I did. When I can actually tell what the heli is doing, it will have served it''s purpose & I''ll be ready to move on.

Good luck, let us all know what you get and how it goes for you. Doc

Thanks guys,

Upon review I agree there is alot of info there.

Maybe I was expecting the id's to be acronyms or such.

Thanks again.

P.S. FFDoc...

Can't help but notice the FL. location.

I'm born/raised in P.B.C.

I have to ask if you have ever visited the ReadyHeli showroom?

Is it worth a drive from Boynton?

Thanks in Advance...RWW
