Default NEED KNOWLEDGE , Please ... T-REX 600

I just bought the KX016009A Kit , T-Rex 600 Blue Metal .... This is my 1st RC Anything ... Dont Laugh , I thought if i was going to try this as a hobby , i should spend the money, to do it right. (hopefully)...

I want to buy digital Servos , but i dont know what are good / excellent quality ones to buy ... Nor how many

Need Battery and charger ... I have no idea ... Can you run two batteries parallel ?

I also need to buy a transmitter / reciever ... I want to go 2.4 Ghz .... want to be able to use for other crafts, if i dont destroy this one too fast

Any other suggestions for this Rookie would be great

I've posted a few sites that will answer most of your questions. Please do your homework a 800 size helicopter is a great machine but can be very dangerous. Mike

I wouldn't buy anything less than a DX7, get an x9303 or a Futaba 10c if you can spring the cash.

For servos I'd use Futaba 9452's on the cyclic and a 611/9256 combo for the tail

Not sure about batteries, I don't fly anything that big but Outrage and SMC are both good packs.

If this is truly the case, I highly recommend getting a good flight simulator first! Practice, practice, practice on it before you attempt to hover the real thing for the first time. My sim has saved me a ton of money, time and sorrow.

Thanks, from Maui

I have been using a DX7 for just about 2 years now and have been very happy with it. I went with Spektrum t over Futaba because of the price of receivers. The Futaba receivers seem to cost alot more.

For servos I am using Futaba S9252's on my 600. Other popular options are Futaba S9452's, Align DS 821's, and HiTec 6965's.

For a gyro I am using a Logictech 6100T with a Logictech 6100G. It works well and the combo is reasonably priced. For a beginner a more budget friendly choice would be a Futaba Gy401 with a 9254 servo. There are many other choices like the GY611, Spartan DS760, Curtis Youngblood Solid G, ect.

When I was running 6S packs in my 600 the Outrage 6s 25C 5000mah where my favorite. For a beginner, I would recommend the much cheaper Zippy-H 6S 5000mah packs from HobbyCity.com You can get those for about $150 each shipped.

For a Charger - My current favorite is the FMA CellPro 10S from fmadirect.com. I also have a couple of Hyperion EOS0610i's that work great as well. Just make sure you get a charger that has a rating of at least 110 watts so you can charge your 6S packs at 1C or 5A.

My only other suggestions are once again to start with a sim. Second, find someone in your area that can mentor you and help you with setup of the mechanics and your radio. You can do it on your own, I did. However, it is much easier to have someone right there to help.

Good Luck and Have Fun!

If you are building this yourself get the build videos on HeliFreak. They Help a lot!
If this is your 1st Heli get a sim.
