Default 3W 100 readings....

What is everyone getting with their 3W 100's with a MenzS or a 3W 28x10?

I have a MSC 27x10 on mine and getting 6k on the number.

Thanks!!

Default Tach

Hey

When we tached my brand new 3W 100 B2 SS with a Mejlik 26x10 it was turning about 7000 rpm's ( no lie) .
It only has about 2 gallons through it. I have it bolted onto my Hanger-9 Sukhoi , great match.

Dude, I bet that thing is WAY noisey with those Johnson muffs on it!!! Unless you are running a blade!! Another 3 gals thru it and you can go with a 28x10 or 26x10 3 blade. I'm trying to see what RPM everyone is running at. I have a 3W 28x10 tached 6k, I have a MSC 27x10 turns 6k. And now I'm getting a MenzS 28x10, and cant wait to see what it turns!!!

I might be a few hundred R's rich, cuz I took both barells off last year, adn the tops of the pistons are black totally!! It's all carbon build up. I might clean them up before I really start flying again?

I might check them again this weekend and see what I get? Depends on if I get my header welded again.

Keep the input coming!!!

Chris~

My old style motor (7 lb) turns a Mejzlik 27x10 @ 6400 rpm. That's the only prop I've ever had on it. With supersonicexhaust mufflers.

I have an older TOC 100 with about 2 gallons of fuel through it. If the weather holds I'm going to tach it tomorrow with a Menz 26x10 (Measures 25 3/8) Diablo -> Where are your needles just as a reference? Thanks_bob

Hello Bob:
Not sure where my needles are set. My engine has the carbon fibre intake horn. I had to lean out the low end needle quite a bit after adding the intake horn. If your setup is not the same, I wouldn't use my needle settings.

It was a bit windy, but enjoyable none the less. With the Menz 26x10 (25 3/8) it turned 7100. I did have to lean the low end a bit. It's getting better as it runs in.

My "old style" TOC100, with Supersonics, would turn a mejzlik 28-10 in the 6750-6800 range when cold, and about 6600-6650 when hot. After I dinged THAT prop, a replacement Mejzlik 28-10 lost about 100 rpm across the board. . turning 6650-6700 cold and 6550-6600 hot. The Mejzlik 26-10 I used for break-in was 6900 out of the box and 7100-7150 before I replaced it with the 28-10.

Other "old style" 100TOC's I've seen (a friend had two) also turned 6850-6900 out of the box on the Supersonics with the Mejzlik 26-10.

Propellers make a BIG difference in rpm figures.
