If I were going to use the Losi side header that came with the pipe and mount it to the mud guard what would I use to heat it up and bend it? As far as those kind of tools go all I have are lighters, no torches or anything. I bought the AE U shape header today from a shop in town so I am going to try to mount it in the rear tonight and see how that goes.

Wait you just bought the u shaped header for the 4.6
Which header have you been using?
If its the factory team side exhaust then the pipe will fit.
And yes you would use a torch to heat it up, or i know sombody on here boiled it to make it bend.

is there a benefit from mounting the exhaust on the side?

I ended up just using the Losi pipe and my existing AE header. That way it al lfits in the mud guard and clears the drill start without having to bend anything. I can't imagine the Losi header making that much of a difference in performance vs. the AE header, it's the pipe that matters and the Losi pipe should hook up and do work. I'll post a pic of it later. Man, you guys have some super rigged set ups and some funny pics, that one with the header all bent and dented and the pipe hanging off the side is ghetto fabulous.

I am thinking of taking the header I got off my friends Redcat Monsoon (POS) and getting tricky. It is a U shape header with a straight section on the bend of it. I might cut it off to make it more of an L shape. Run the header off the engine then it will be facing straight out the end of the truck, hook the pipe up so it is aimed directly out the back and hook up a exhaust hanger to the RPM wing I have on it. Cut a hole in the body so the pipe comes out the back of it. I haven't seen something like that and I might as well try it since I have that Deadcat header that would work.

'Sup guys (and ladies, if there are any out there)....
I picked up a collection of trucks off Craigslist a few weeks ago, and have spent that time completely dissassembling them, cleaning, repairing and putting them back together. I got a T-Maxx 2.5, 2 MGT 4.6se's, and a Cen MT, plus a lot of extras for the Maxx and MT. Anyway, I've spent the last week perusing the thread, but skipping a couple hundred pages in the middle.
Anyway, here's a few pics of the before. I'll have after pics in a bit. Is it bad that I have 15 vehicles?

After... don't mind the Maxx rear end in the background. I wish I had checked the diff before I got it all put back together.

Yes, $400
One of them still needs a couple small things, like a rear shock tower and slipper pegs. Maxx pegs will work, right?

Thanks. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep both of them or not. And the Maxx I may send to a friend in Georgia.
Now all I need is time to actually drive them.

Snauty, shoot me a PM if you're interested in those Powerstrokes. I'm pretty sure they have Maxx springs (springrate) on them. Horizon shows as having heavier springs though. That's why I took them off, too much preload and they still didn't really hold the truck up.
