Quadra 200
Don,
Thought I'd write and get your opinion on a Quadra 200 since in the past you flew many of their engines, and if I'm not mistaken, flew a large scale cap with the 200 Quadra. I've got a large scale ultimate that will probably need some weight up front and was considering a Quadra 200.
How do they run? What sort of prop and rpms were you getting with yours in the past if you remember? Were you running standard type mufflers or cannister style exhaust? I've heard some negative things about the 3W 200, so I was leaning away from that, or I could spend a little more and go with a ZDZ 210 instead. Again, just wanted to get your impressions first.
Thanks ahead of time,
Gerry

RE: Quadra 200
Quadra 200 with stock mufflers came in just under 12 Lbs. If my memory serves me correctly it was swinging a Menz 32x10 standard at about 6000 rpm. The engine ran smooth and was very reliable. It pulled the 48Lb Cap around ok, but nothing like today's thrust to weight birds in competition.
