Thank You very much for the manual....
I just need some 1 1/2" servo arms and maybe some 3/16" axles.
Everything else is just waiting in a box.
Under the "Contents of the Kit" it lists a 4 1/4" spinner. If that's true, this plane is a super value...but I'm guessing probably not....
Can't wait....rumors are that they are at the distribution centers right about now. So it depends on where you hear the rumors from.

The plane looks fantastic....
Must be a blast to fly with the recomended setup of 80-85cc with a can installed!
Great job Mike M.

Mike,
Do You think the H9 SU-26MM with a Moki 150cc radial engine would be a flyable combination?
(Ref. to my previous post #50)
Thanks,
Lars

Mike,
The Moki 150 weighs around 9,15 Lbs (4300g) so it is much heavier than the DA-85. I believe it would be possible to balance the plane by placing batteries etc. as far back in the model as possible. My main concern is if the increased wing loading is a problem or not. Since the SU-26MM is your design perhaps you can tell if the planes structure is strong enough to handle the increased weight?
I have seen the previous version of the H9 Sukhoi with a Moki radial engine on it somewhere on the internet, unfortunatly there were no info about the flight carachteristics or the models performance. This plane/engine-combination is not the most common one and there is not much information to find.
Thanks,
Lars

Wow, that around the same weight as the DA-200 in my 43% 260. I would say no, its not a good match. The SU-26MM will balance perfectly with a DA-85 in the nose, the rudder servo in the tail and the rx batts under the canopy. It would take something like an additional 2 lbs in the tail to balance the model, so the OA weight would be approx 7 lbs heavier than it should be.
Not good for the airframe and I dont think you'd be happy with the performance at that weight.

Mike,
Thanks for your feedback. I was a little concerned that the increased weight (much increased) would be a problem.
My goal is to build a scale-aerobatic plane with the Moki radial engine on it, so I will continue my search for a suitable model.
I still think the H9 SU-26MM seems to be a sweet plane and by the look of the manual very well constructed.
Didg,
I am out of the office for a couple of days and cant check my e-mail adress connected to rc-universe. I will surtainly check for your PM when I return on thursday.
Thanks,
Lars

Ok but in your hook up you said you used 2 4500mah lipos on the rx and another 4500 on the ign. You used a y harness for the rx batts? runing 6v? no regulators?

No Y harness. Both run through a seperate switch and into different ports in the rx. One into batt port and one into an open channel (Its all a common power buss) same as I've done for years with a single rx in large models. No regs, but I dont yet have an opinion as to unregulated 2 cell lipo vs regulated to 6V.
The ignition has a reg because the Desert AC ignition isnt made to work above 6V.

Thanks alot Mike
This is my first time chating with you! Can I get your autograph!!(LOL) It's nice talking directly to the man that made the planes you love to fly. Great job with all the H9 fleet.

MIKE, I down loaded the manual for the Sukhoi, and I don't see anything on how the choke is operated, as the carb is in the motor box, and the canister would be below the carb. Could you describe how you got around this. Did you put another servo on the other side of the tank? It would sure be nice to see some shots of the MtW110 canister in place with the cowl off. The shots of the canisters installed, both infront, and inside the fuse, was a big selling point, for me buying the 35% H9 Extra 260. You know the saying a picture is worth a thousand words.
Thanks Rick
