ross001, I have a friend that works in a body shop and he has mixed me up some colors with the base coat clear coat system they are using and he said if I want custom colors it is not a problem. You might check in your area because they mix their own paint and I can get it in small squirt bottles at their cost and if you have to buy it retail in larger containers it's expensive. I am going to try it on aa couple more canopies. The dry time should be faster and it should be tougher and easier to mask.

Here's a pic of 3 of the 4 Raptors I fly. The 4th is a 30V2 with the stock canopy painted floresent green, matches the shrek green paddles, kinda hard to stomach but easy to see.
Here's a pic of my 90SE, 60V2 (OS70SZ), & 50SE at the local flying field.
Great thread ya got goin here..............

Although I own three helis and don't fly any of them, here are a few photos that I took a while back--I have so many photos... it just takes me a while to get bored and go through them every now and then. If I recall correctly, Jeff was flying all the helis with the exception of the micro-mini heli.

Hi all,
Some nice paint jobs here.
Mine is a Titan in almost standard decals, just without the blue nose decal.
I don't like the way the front and back decals taper to a point where they join, so mine dosen't.

Anyway, I was doing some low level autos as the sun was setting and my dad got these shots.

Yup,
Ex USAF base during WW2.
Even I can land on the 1600mtr long runways (2 of)
If you have a look at our web site you can see why most of our guys fly turbine jets.
www.langfordmodelaviation.com

Er, dumb question here, but, as I don't like the look of green paddels (but not at the stage of using them yet) can you paint them??

BigFeet, the 20 gram paddles also come in red and white if you don't like the green. I got mine in red from OnlyRaptors.com

Me and my E550 at the airfield where I work during a lunch break. No worries there, I just ensure the squadrons not flying when I am. Hover off the tarmac and I'm flying over the soccer field down below.

Thanks Outlaw,

Nice spot you have there to fly on, we can only fly at weekends or evenings, so no flying during the day if I'm off work.
As I work in an open air Museum, and we have loads of space, BUT, members of the public milling about, no flying there during lunch time either.

I love the colours of your heli.
Is that standard on the E550 or did you paint it?

Thanks Big Feet, but you really have to see the electric wires to the left of the flying area! Luckily being on a small hill where I fly, they are down below me and the tops of the wires are at about head level and not 75 ft up in the sky- so missing them is like flying above a hedge at a normal flat flying area. Being up on a hill over the soccer field gives me a nice "soft deck" for mistakes in case I recover too low. Regarding the canopy colors, they are the stock stickers. I didn't like the stock positioning so I cut them as I pleased and applied them where it seemed best, not where the diagram showed. I'm thinking of vaccuum bagging my canopy and making a lighter fiberglass version as stock is a heavy 8 oz! I figure I can lose almost 3 oz doing it. When done I'll be sure to give it a good paint and post back here with the results.

I've also got some blue paddles from onlyraptors. Sorry, I'm not sure of their weight, I think they are the same as the green.

Here's my latest canopy $45 from Heliproz. Comes finished nicely in white with the black windscreen painted on. Good deal for a glass body. OK, it's not that fancy, but it gives me a free ad on the forum.

Yes, the Raptors come with a white canopy and some decals, hard for me to see especially on a cloudy day. Orange would be good too, but I don't care much for it.

Yes, orange would be a bit 'in your face' I suspect, unless a really cool paint scheme was developed. hummm.
Mind you, it would look good in a sunset like mine one above.
