Default Hog Bipe

I am in the process of building a Sig Hog Bipe. I made a new firewall and moved it back 1 1/2" to accomodate a Saito 1.50. I have just about finished the fuselage except for the top rear sheeting. I left it open in case I have to mount my servos in the tail area to offset the extra engine weight. Does anyone have any building experience with this model? Any tips I should know about? It is a first run kit I bought back in '95. Are there any kit improvements since then? Has anyone else built an overpowered hog bipe? Thanks in advance for any tips you can give me...

Default Hog Bipe

I am presently building the HogBipe and have altered it dramatically. I have found the weight issue to be minimal; also cutback the fuse by two inches and rebuilt aft turtledeck and tail surfaces..... CG will be affected; will place an OS90 Surpass up front. I was told by others to keep the servos separate for the ailerons and keep the lower forward fuse open until weight and CG are ironed out. Keep the wings laterally balanced as you build; don't sweat the weight until overall kit is framed up then adjust as necessary. With a 1.50, plan on aft mounted servos and strengthen the hinges...... easy hinges probably not your best bet. This is a great kit to bash.... flies very nicely.

I'm new to this forum so I'm not sure how we could exchange pics of our projects thru this site...... if you can help me figure it out, I can post a pic and would enjoy any of your project. A saito 1.50 will launch this kit..... would love to see it fly.
