Where to get slides for center shelf in a trailer
I'm a disabled poor-boy so money is tight. I'll be building a 6x8' box trailer 4' tall and I'd like to put sliders on the shelf that divides it top to bottom with the bottom 2 ft for large planes and the upper 2 ft for smaller/lighter stuff. I need the shelf to be nearly the full 8' length and slide out approx 4-5 foot so I intend to add supports for when it's extended. Where can I find some slides to accomplish this for a reasonable price?

Yeah ,the track and rollers are pricey if not included with a new door,,
But you can search Craig's list for used parts or put a want ad,,
Also find yourself a garage door installer and you can pick up a used set for practically nothing, they just turn it in for scrap,
I actually have a full used set taking up space in my garage since I installed my new door myself a couple years ago.

Thanks for the info everybody. As for making my own?? I suck at creating some things and i drew a blank on this one outside of sliders in split pvc pipe. That, and laziness... Screwing 3 screws into 2 parts and calling them one beats the hell out of hobbling around trying to fit this to that, and the other thing, then starting over because another idea popped up...

Here is an inexpensive easy way to make the shelf. Material needed: 4 each 1x2 for the rails, plywood for the shelf and Harbor Freight ball bearing rollers.
Position bottom rails at desired position, screw rollers to the bottom of shelf. Then position top rail above shelf with a 1/8" gap. Add a stop block at the desired shelf extension. The 5/8" size roller should roll perfectly on the 3/4" edge of the rail.
I built a storage building solo. I made brackets using these rollers to help me set the roof trusses. Worked like a champ. Handled the weight with no problem. Good luck.

Tex, I built my own trailer drawer slides. Similar to what was mentioned before.....I used shelf brackets (90' angle brackets), with 1x4 between them. I put 2 on each side of the trailer, so the drawer is between them.(one upside down if you will) I used a piece of 1/4" plywood as the 'shelf' with some 2x4 aroudn the perimeter to stiffen it up. Wax the 1x4's and it'll slide easily. I put some markings on the shelf so i dont pull it out too far and have it fall out! with that being said, it easily comes out to use the trailer for bikes, snowmobiles, etc.
My trailer is a 5x8 V-nose.

Shelf and Slide
The top view is the frame for the shelf from 1X3 clear pine. Cover it with 3/8 ply good one side. You will need to cut a piece of 1X3 pine to act as a stop see the side view.
The side view shows the track from 1/2 inch ply and the five roller blade wheels or skateboard wheels. The one top wheel and the four bottom wheels sandwich the shelf frame and ply cover. At the left side you will see the short 1X3 that will stop the shelf when its extended against the top wheel. The top wheels have to be placed so the end of the shelf is still supported by the second last wheel.
The end views give you the orientation of the wheels and the 1/2 ply side rail with the shelf sandwiched between the wheels.
Hope this helps.
