Is there a common household or automotive chemical that can be used in the place of Monocoat Trim Solvent? The LHS is out and I'd like to do a little multi layered trim work on my wing this week.

Acetone is the main ingredient in Trim Solvent and will work.. HOWEVER, it evaporates MUCH faster than Trim Solvent, thus giving you much less time to complete the task.
Acetone does work well cleaning up smears of adhesive.
If you apply too much acetone or Trim Solvent, it will "wash away" the adhesive on the MonoKote.
Try some scraps first.

Thanks for the info. My wife has some finernail polish remover that seems to evaporate slower than plain acetone. I'll give it a try on a wrecked wing and see how it goes.
