I have used everything to clean my plane from Windex to baby wipes. The other day I was washing the Caddy and I had some Eagle One "Spray and Shine". This is the wipe on/wipe off wax stuff. It cleans as well as shines. Well I'm here to tell you this stuff really cleaned the plane (in one wipe) and it shines! If I used Windex it would take a while and there were always streaks and no real "shine". The plane looks new. I just wanted to pass on this tip. I'm sold.

I bought this bottle 3 years ago and it just sat in the garage so I have no idea about the cost. It is also anti static so that should help keep it clean as well as dampen on rx interference (kidding).

I use Meguire's (Final Finish??) in the maroon spray bottle. I've also got the Eagle One Wet Shine. They're about $5 bottle at Autozone. But I usually use the cheap baby wipes first. When using the Meguires, use old t-shirts, cloth diapers, etc., not terry cloth or paper towels. Just my .02

BH, how long have you used the Spray & Shine? Let us know if it looks like it'll hold up without dulling the finish later. I'll bet it'll do fine! Of course I just dust my glider! (but I also fly power) (-:

Funny,I gave the same tip months ago and didnt really get a reply,it was winter and I guess nobody was flying.Anyway,I agree. The wetshine,or the meguires final finish is the trick.I did find that on heavily soild airplane thought I had to first remove the thick stuff with some window cleaner with ammonia. But the wetshine leaves a perfect finish,no blurry swirl marks or fingerprints.Looks brand new when your done with it.

Same here. I was in the grass Sat and it was so thick I Windexed first and then really cleaned both planes with the wet n shine. I figure if I get one really good cleaning with it all the other cleanings should be a lot easier.

I'm going to give this stuff a try next flying session. One thing I did notice over the years is that regular car wax applied two or three times a season really helps the appearance of the plane and prevents some of that gunky buildup.
I waxed my Ultra Stick .40 last night using Mothers automotive wax, and it really looks better than new now. I even waxed the spinner and wooden prop -- they also look better than new.
To apply, just do as you would on your car. Put the stuff on (circular motion), let it haze up, and buff it off. Try it -- you'll really be surprised. The wax strips off any residue that may be lingering, and leaves a NICE shiny finish.
This Magic stuff sounds easier, though ...
