Thanks for your reply though, it sets in cement what I want to do and that is the Saito instead of the OS 46AX (which I know is another great engine for this plane, but thats another story.

All you have to do is rotate the throttle arm so that when the carb is closed it stops before it hits the firewall. Then just get a piece of 2-56 rod with threads on one end. Run the threaded end past the arm on the carb then bend it back towards it. Attach a nylon clevis and your set!!

You could drill a hole through the motor mount and use a flexable cable.
You can rotate carb throttle arm 180 degrees that would put your arm higher.
You can go past the throttle arm and make a U in the push rod and come at it from the front.
You can mount a bellcrank on the motor mount and attach the pushrod to it and the other end you
can connect anothershort pushrod to the throttle arm.
I have used all the above. Somethimes a
4 stroke can be a PITA.

Bill,
The owner of a LHS sold me the Du-Bro 4 stroke linkage. This lingage consists of a single arm of a belcrank that will attach towards the front of the engine mount. The throttle cable from the servo attaches to the arm. The arm has a positive link (2-56 rod) to the throttle arm. the Du-Bro kit contains everything you need to attach the product to the kit. It provides the optimum amount of slop to enable the throttle arm to move inwards/outwards when opening/closing during operation. It cost 3.95
The other method that he suggested, is to take cable and put a U into it and solder the U to prevent future bending. The cable will have a clevis threaded on, and then attached to the throttle arm.

If rotating the throttle arm will not allow it to clear the motor mount, take a piece of 2-56 pushrod and make a bend so it will clear the motor mount. Drill a new hole where needed and plug the old hole with a piece of dowel.
The special adaptor/linkage is normally not needed for a 4 stroke since you can reverse the servo to get the proper movement.
