Pure Simplicy ! A metal folding sawhorse from Home Depot, a 36" piece of 1X6 of wood screws to the top and a DU-BRO plastic plane cradle attached to the top with a bungee cord ! And folds up to nothing for transport ! Plenty of room in the cradle tray for tools and stuff... Cost about $15.00.

Just found this thread and downloaded the plans from the site Dave listed and got the plans. I will build this stand and see how it works. Thanks, Dave and Greg and everyone that has kept this thread going for so long.

Default Wow

I can't believe that link is still active after almost 13 years. I buried that page and link in some webspace that belongs to a previous employer. It hasn't been removed and is still active. Not that they used the webspace that their ISP provided them. Glad that people are still able to use it.

I too am amazed and pleased this thread has endured. I think I'll build another one!

Is this your original design? Did you design this yourself? Where did you get the idea?

Hello, I built a few of these stands back in the late 90's. I think I got the plans from this site, they were a 1 page illistration. The top was 2 piece and it all folded flat
Anyone know where I could find them?
thnx

That is a pretty simple design. I have 2 coffee table style. Check local furniture departments you may find one to copy.

I Know, I am a little late to the party.

Someone wanted a larger and more permanent stand. This may be what they're looking for.

Here is one of my friends planes on the bench, an awesome 35cc DLE powered scale model. Plenty of room on the top and easy to build.

I also designed a larger version for people who want to work on some of the bigger planes without needing to leave them on the ground.

A few years back, we built some safety stands for our field.
