Default tip on using gorilla glue for wing joining

I have used gorilla glue in my last 2 builds and really like it. Its great for pin hinges, wing joining, etc. The foaming characteristics makes it ideal for a tight fit.

On my current build I learned exactly how great gorilla glue fills joints. When it was time to install the servos after joining the wing halves I made a hole in the top of the wing and tried to locate the channel for the servo extensions. The channel was solid! I tried to run a cable through the other end to come out at the center of the wing and it would only get to within 3 to 4 inches of the exit on the other end.. After several hours of delicate work I was finally able to get most of the gorilla glue out of the channel. The last piece I pulled out was a rock hard plug about a half inch long! The glue had expanded around 3 inches into each wing half. I had been really careful not to get any glue in the channels but I guess when I braced the wing together the pressure pushed it into the channel.

Its great stuff but I will be a lot more careful next time

Glad you got the job done, That could have been much worse.

Had a great time flying in Auburn today. Weather was perfect.

Enjoy,

Jim

I've never had it evaporate that fast and that much. Something else may be wrong?

Enjoy,

Jim
