How do you guys mark cross section lines, for example, panel lines or invasions stripes on a tapered fuse on a scale war bird? You can't just lay a flexible ruler down and draw. The line will come out curved. I experimented with a homemade height gage once that I made out of some wooden yard sticks, but had limited success. That's why I'm throwing this one out to all you building experts out there. Thanks for lookin'! David

Go to an Art store and get a flex layuot rule , mine is about three foot long and feels like it's filled with lead.
It will bend in two directions at the same time and has MM and Inch rulers on either side bout $8.
You can also use it to duplicate/transfer shapes.

I just use masking tape to get the general lay out, then put the film down on the line I just made with masking tape. Plus when you put the tape on, if it doesn't look right, pull it off and redo it. You can round it, curve it, do anything to it and it will give you the line for your covering....
