Default Windex Method Bubble Problem

I have a plane that I finished covering with Ultracote. I began using Monokote for my trim schemes last night. I have a few questions for you:

1. I used 409 Glass & Surface cleaner instead of Windex. Is this gonna be a problem? The back of the container reads: “Do Not Use On Tint Coated Windows.

2. I squeegeed all the 409 and removed all the big air bubbles with a credit card. I noticed that after the Monokote set for a couple of minutes, I could notice very small pin size air bubbles all over the trim. Is this normal? I tried removing them the credit card, but could not remove them. I didn’t want to keep trying since the credit card seemed to leave light surface scratches.

3. How long does the Monokote need to set before I can use the iron and Trim Solvent. After a few hours of setting, I could still easily lift the Monokote trim from the plane. is this normal?

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Default RE: Windex Method Bubble Problem

It could be that the 409 is partially reacting with the monokote adhesive. Try some clear windex and see if the same problem happens. also distilled water with a little bit of alcohol sprayed on will do the same job as windex without the ammonia.
Probably cheap vodka would work but we shouldn't go there.
