Default Sullivan Electric Starter information

I usually keep everything for ever. That is what my wife reminds me of every so often anyway. I have lost, misplaced the information that came with the starter and now I am putting a cigerette lighter tip on it I need to find out how many amps that the starter pulls? Since the plug in is fused, 2 amp fuse, I was wondering is 10 amp would be enough? They sell this thing as heavy duty, I don't think 2 amp is really heavy duty!!!!!!! Any Help?

Default starter

these are for intermittent use why do you need a fuse, a 5 amp would probably be big enough the harder the motor is to turn the more ampps it will pull

Default Sullivan Starter

I bought the cigerette lighter plug from Radio Shack and they just make them with a fuse. I don't know why! I tryed a 10 amp which ran the starter untill I put it to the 60 size engine and it let go real fast. I then went to a 25 amp fuse and it worked perfect. I agree why the fuse? I don't know.

since there is no need for a fuse, just put the highest rated fuse you can get......

Default SULLIVAN STARTER

Thanks for everyone that helped with my question about the starter. I did e-mail Sulivan who did answer and did give me a maximan power pull of up to 8o amps which is almost as much as a car starter. THANKS AGAIN!
Chris
