HELP! Monokote Peeling Off

How do you keep the Monokote trim from peeling off?
I've tried sealing the edges with clear fingernail polish.
It worked for a while.
But the fuel starts to get under it and then it starts to peel.
Has anyone found a sealant that really works?

Is it Monokote or the Monokote trim sheets (peel & stick)? For the trim sheets, I've actually used an iron to really "set" the adhesive, just don't get it too hot. A little clear nail polish around the LE and it seems to work OK. You may have to re-apply the nail polish from time to time. Was the area you applied the trim perfectly clean? A little oil residue or even fingerprints could cause problems. I like to wipe it off with denatured alcohol first.

Balsarite along the leading edge works too and it is fuel proof. Clean off excess with Ironex. Be careful with this stuff because Ironex also will remove the color on the iron on strip if you use too much of it on the cloth that you are using to remove the excess Ironex. I used to do this a lot but found out that is less trouble to cut my trim from monokote and iron it down. To prevent bubbles, punch some pin holes into the area that you will be covering so that the gasses can get out.

Well, I don't know alot about nail polish as there are so many different types/brands on the shelves. I do know that the bottles I recently purchased are not fuel proof - my older bottles were. Now what I do is spray some clear lusterkote into a bottle top and brush it on corners and edges of trim pieces. This works for me. Not sure though, how long lusterkote is going to be around as they seem to be discontinuing alot of the colors.

Clear coating works well for me.
I've taken to spraying most of my planes with a rattle can of Top Flite Clear Coat.
No more fuel seeping in under the trim, decals, etc.
