Im having a heck of a time finding a metal cutting (aluminum) bandsaw blade for my Ryobi bandsaw. Everybody sells them for wood cutting but no one I can find online sells the metal cutting ones. I need a 59 1/4" blade. Ideas? Bkf
Local stores do not have and will not order.

I would try, either Sears and/or Ace Hardware.
I know they sell these blades in their stores, and I would assume they would be available on-line.
Good-Luck.

bkf,
I need the same blade. Wish I had known it wasn't offered before I bought the saw.
I tried Sears. Their Catalogs shows that it is not made for metal in 59 1/4 size. Tried Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Lowes etc. No Luck.
Good hunting. If you have any luck I would appreciate the info.

Have always had good luck with this source for industrial supplies: McMaster-Carr Supply Company. Their main plant/warehouse is in Elmhurst, Illinois. Have their old catalog which gives their sales desk number as (708) 833-0300, but the area code has changed to (630). They do have a website: www.mcmaster.com/. Huge catalog!!! Good luck. Regards.

Check out your local Ace hardware. They have a huge catalog and will order anything you need from it. I get all my band saw blades from them. It takes only a few days and the price is right. The last ones (56 1/8 inches) cost me $7.80 each.

Ace Hardware did not want to know anything about ordering them. NONE of the above had them and none were willing to order them. But I found that the Vermont American 59.5" will work. I had a hard even finding them but finally did in a Lowe's store. They were sitting on the floor behind some boxes. I got luckey But if I had to do it over again I would get a band saw where the blades are in stock. EVERYONE had the wood blades but none had the one metal cutting blade. I got two. They had one more. I can pick it up and send it. I won't be able to go until tursday. Bkf

bkf,
If the pick up offer was for me, I greatly appreciate it, but I'll check my local Lowe's stores again now that you've given me a brand and size that will work.
Thanks again.

Since you already found a source, I'll just pass this along as
future ref. Kansas City has a retail parts store called Beaver Tools
where you take in the length you need and tooth count, they will
cut the length off from a bulk spool and weld it. I'm sure you
would have a similar shop up there too.
I may have missed it, but I didn't see that you mentioned what
gear reduction you have for going from wood to metal.

I just bought a band saw blade made by the M. K. Morse Company, Canton Ohio, 44711 at Menards. Menards is similar to Lowes, etc. It says on the back that the 14 tpi blades are for finishing cuts in wood and ferrous and non-ferrous metals (1/4 inch or thicker). The blade was $5.
