texx thats what we are here for. it looks good. you did i better job than i did. how did you hold the rods in? if you go with a hobby class battery dont get venom. they dont last long and tend to over heat. atleast mine does

NEYOU86...

I drill four small holes with a drill (slightly smaller than the metal rod).

Then I inserted the metal rods (slightly larger) with a pair of pliers, and turning .

The stems are inserted firmly in the hole, and I conclude by pasting (outside) the ends of each stem, with hot glue, stick. [8D]

I believe they will remain in place for quite some time.

I did a little test, and the drive roller, works very well.

The belt remains in place and not slip on the drive roller, so it accelerates better, and never loses speed.

THANK .. NEYOU86 for this mod.

PS...
If the belt stretches of somewhat, I'll be your mod, NEYOU86...[sm=thumbup.gif]

My first test on the snow ..

/new motor 351 / Jeep 1/6 newbright...
/New spring-shock, much softer...
/new electronic card 9.6 volt / Jeep 1/6 newbright... proportional speed...
/Remove all lights ...
/New servo- / Jeep 1/6 newbright ...Automatic return to center...
/Install 4 metal rods on which the roller pushes the belt...

Very soon, I'll do another test on the snow ..

I am sure that Polaris will be more efficient.

I made a little trying on the floor, and it seems that his accéléraion, is better than before.

We'll see on the video .. I hope so.[8D]

HELLO ..

I did a little test on the snow, and I must admit, the roller slipping on the belt .. [X(]

Therefore, the Polaris was paralyzed on the snow .. []

I thought that this POLARIS, would go much further .. This will be for the next test ..[][][]

Small video of this test failed ...[][>:][:@][>:][&o][:@][:@]

The mod to stretch the belt, which I demonstrate NEYOU86 will be welcome ..

NEYOU86 .. PIC ...

I have to restart the work and made this mod ..

I also move my metal rods on the roller, much closer to the edge

Tomorrow, I'll look for pieces that I miss, and I will finish this mod ..

The belt should stay firm on the roller guide.

HELLO ..

I finish the mod (stretching / belt) ..

I find a smooth metal rod, and I drill two small holes at each end.

A small screws / metal, keeps it all.

I think this mod should work.

The belt will not slip more ..

Before mod ......

After mod ..

Jeep 1/6 newbright-electric panel ..

(( Before closing it off, I install the electrical panel in a plastic bag to protect it from water .)).

Servo wire .................................................. .............. Motor wire ..........

The next test will probably be better than others .. New video soon ..

Texx,

I have a few questions on the snowmobile subject. I got my first chance to do a true test with my snowmobile. I finally aquired a 9.6v soft-pack charger with the tamiya style connector. I got it outside and it performed fairly well! I think that the toy rider makes it very top-heavy and was wonering if you took off your rider for better performance? Also, when it is under a heavy load it seems to make a loud noise, is this the drive belt slipping that I have read about on your forums on your Polaris project?

P.S.
The New Bright brand 27mhz transmitter I am using with the snowmobile works very well accept for the fact that the controls are backwards. Left steer is right, right is left., forward drive is reverse etc. It is hard to get used to!!

One final question in this message for the snowmobile, have you any idea of the size of the stock motor that these come with?

################################################## ############

DARK ..

To the question of performance, install a better motor, is better ..[sm=thumbup.gif]

I install a 351 and I wonder if this motor is powerful enough .. []

I'll maybe change it to a bigger (or, better battery) .. [8D]

The stock motor, must be a 280 .. I think ..

1/10 stock motor .......... Polaris stock motor ......................... 351 Jeep 1/6 motor ............

################################################## #############

For your controller, you could maybe change the polarity of the wire on the servo motor direction, and also on the wire of the motor.

I have already done this work for a power steering, and it worked ..

(But not the main motor).[]

There may be another solution?

((( For the controller, RUBULDER be able to help us .. )))

################################################## #######

The noise you hear comes surely from the belt slipping on the roller-propeller ..

Do a little test .. rotate the belt with the controller, and put your hand to stop, if the roll thruster, running anyway, is that the belt is a little stretch.

You'll need to do the mod (stretching of the belt)

See pics above.

################################################## ##
NEYOU86 .. and MILLER185... ,can help us, they are experts in Polaris snowmobile ..

Consider the thread MILLER185 and NEYOU86, and also my thread, it is good advice ..

THANK .. NEYOU86 ...

HELLO ...

I did a little test with the new mod (stretching of the belt) and all seems well .. The belt does not slip ..

I should perhaps add four metal rods on the roll thruster, if I change the motor for a bigger, adding these rods would help a lot

The snow was too soft for a try .. []

A good systen ESC would be the best way to install large motor ..

But (dollars) are not always available, especially at this time of year ..[][:@][]

.. .. HO HO HO ..

I could not wait and work is now done.

####################################

I'll add four metal rods in the rollers.

There will be eight ..

The contact of the belt will be better with eight metal rods.

Tomorrow I'll reinstall the belt .. ... In the meantime, I'll go celebrate with friends.

#########################################

Merry Christmas .. [: D]

Just for fun ..

The test will be very soon, I hope that this addition of metal rods, facilitate the rotation of the belt on the snow.

HELLO ..

This morning I made two little test.

I checked if the mod (stretching of the belt) worked well .. is OK ..[sm=thumbup.gif]

The belt does not slip on the roller ..

The battery must be changed, it is not powerful enough ..[] and the battery of my camera too .. []

############################################

The new servo/direction (Jeep 1 / 6 newbright 6-wire automatic return to center) works wonderfully. No problem.

The new spring/shock that I install are just soft enough to work well.

Stock .................................................. .......new...........

##################################################

I'll try to install two batteries in parallel.

It would be a good thing, the execution time, will be doubled.

HELLO ..

I install a second battery in parallel ..

I find him a good place (between the legs of the driver) ..

I drill a small hole on the seat so that the battery connector so that it enters the compartment of the stock battery ..

I'll make the connections tonight ..

The execution time will be doubled.[sm=thumbup.gif]

The second battery is easy to remove and reinstall. Just remove the driver's hand on the handlebars, and to turn the body.[8D]

################################################## ####
Tomorrow ..I am going to our radio shack QUEBEC ((THE SOURCE)) to buy 2 kit/battery, in special, 1000 mAh

($ 10.00 each kit with the charger included ( nicd-nimh ) in each kit) Total $ 20.00 + tax.

When you installed these 'metal rods,' Ideally they should have been spaced perfectly with the rubber tabs on the track, like gears in a gear mesh. This can be the reason for any problems yourexperiencingor dull performance as well as the noise. Nice work though! Wish I still had mine.

Pete Magnum ...

I think my work on these metal / bar is a very good job.[ :-)

The stock roller had any metal rods.
NEYOU86 PICS...

He pulled the belt, with very small notches on the outside of the roll.

At first, I installed four metal bar, and the result was not the best, []

now they are eight in number ..

And, Eight metal / bar, is sufficient for this work

They do a good job, and it is perfectly aligned with the tabs/rubber of the belt.

There is no noise, and the roller works well on the belt ..

But the mod (stretching of the belt) was also much help.[sm=thumbup.gif]

((((( THANK .. NEYOU86 and MILLER185.... for your help )))))[sm=thumbup.gif]

Texx have you considered removing the rider on your Polaris? It lowers the center of gravity and makes it not so top heavy! Also, you can keep an eye out for a lighter rider, I found a blue rider that ALMOST fits and is less then 1/2 the weight of original rider.. Thanks for advise on track mods.  I will let you know when I try to do some of these mods.

darksideofasaucerfulofsecrets ..

Thank you for your comment ..

To install the second battery, I cut the plastic under the legs of the driver, and also on top of the seat, to insert the wire of the second battery .. there by removing some weight ..

The weight of the driver is reasonable .. It is made of very thin plastic ..

The second battery is held between the legs of the driver ..

so it would be difficult to remove the driver (the rc, I feel prettier with this one) ..

If the weight is too heavy, I find (I hope) another option ...

################################################## ################

Thank you for your comment RC THEMAN ...

The Polaris is really fun to drive ..

The servo direction works wonders .. and the belt does not slip ..

I'll do a test with both battery and calculate the execution time ..

Watch the next video .. very soon .. [X(][X(]

Not today, the temperature is -20 Celsius and - 30 with the wind .. ( QUEBEC..QUEBEC CITY )

I'll wait a bit ..

Texx..........i like the front suspension.....nice and soft. What ESC are you using? Stock? You could maybe gear it up a bit or put a bigger motor in it. That way it skims more on the surface and doesnt dig in so much.Great work!!!
