T-MAXX Differentials
My t-maxx diffs click like crazy, They spin really smooth but there is a discint soft clicking when you engage the center drive. I assume I will have to rebuild them soon. So my questions are:
1) is there a better set of diff gears I can use in place of the traxxas ones?
2) I here people saying to shim em, I can see how this would help, but where can I get the appropraite shims?
3) What is involved in getting the diffs out, do I have to take the bulkheads apart or will they drop ou if I remove the skids and the shafts?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

RE: T-MAXX Differentials
You can spend a whole lot on difs for the t-maxx try these out for size http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...ore/13543.html but they are over kill for a normal t-maxx i run a Mach .26 and the stock difs on mine have still yet to break. If you are running the 2.5 engine i'd say just stick with the standard ones, but if you are still wanting some thing a little better try robinson racing dif parts.

That clicking sound is coming from your diff cup. You broke a piece inside of it. Get the Kippster Racing aluminum diff cup, and that will solve the clicking sound.

You didn't say what kind of engine you are running so it's kind of hard to say what would be the best way for you to go. if you are not running a .21 or larger, properly built stock diffs will work fine and last quite a while. Here's a scan that shows where to shim as well as the traxxas part number of the shims.

RE: T-MAXX Differentials
Awesome thanks. I am running the stock 2.5 engine. Its been running great but the clicking is still there and now I'm getting a very faint high pitch whine. I guess I'll just have to rebuild the rear diff.
