Default Tire question..

On a T-Maxx...

I would like to know what diameter and width wheels/tires are on it stock.. if I want to put different tires on my stock wheels what size should I get.. there are all these 2.2, 3.0, 3.5... *** do I need?

also, Ive seen you guys make several reference to "40 series" tires, and the only thing I can figure out is that those are less sidewall, and look like they are a little wider too...

I know how to size tires for a REAL car, but this scale stuff seems a little different and not as self explanatory. maybe its easy and Im just overcomplicating it in my head.

Thanks.

Default RE: Tire question..

ya 40 series are way bigger in all ways than the stock ones, the normal tire size on a t-maxx is 3 1/4" W by 5 3/4" H

ya I saw those measurements on the traxxas website

I guess my question is...
so If I get tires off ebay or towerhobbies, anything for stock tmaxx should say "tmaxx" since its a specific size wheel and tire combo...
...and anything 40 series will say 40 series, and of course needs new wheels.. what size wheels do 40 series tires go on?

40 series tires fit 40 series wheels, if it says t-maxx tires then it should mean fits stock t-maxx wheels.

A 40 series tire is actually not as tall as a stock maxx, or revo tire. The inside diameter is larger, but the overall height off the tire is shorter than a stock tire.

You mean the dish wheels? Most people believe they are stronger than a wheel with a cutout design.

People like to think they cause less wind resistance and in theory should be stronger than spoke wheels. but boy they are ugly lol

I think dishes look awsome, I'm gonna get some white ones and dye them black.

I could be wrong, but I believe the solid wheels re less likely to have balance issues, although most balance issues come from the tires, not the wheels, so its likely insignificant.
