Hey Bash,
Another Q.
What do you think about running a set of straight pipes instead of the stock pipe?
I know it will be a whole lot noisier but will it affect engine performance.
I was reading that it might increase top end speed. Is this true.

Well, its been a good several long months since I got my tmaxx (as a wreck) and the parts are finally shipping tomorrow. Tower has had them out of stock since October, I gave in and ordered directly from Traxxas, i nearly forgot they had an online store. So, its been 8 months since I got it and I have yet to drive it. Its halfway completed, but it will be as soon as these darned parts get to me!

Hmmm the 2.5 is a very very finicky engine extremely non user friendly hard to tune and very un predictable. So i cant really explain your engine change so sudden. But its not you its the engine. Most users dislike the 2.5
By straight pipes do you mean dual echaust or like a single exuast or a plain straight pipe instead of the bend in it?
Rccars your maxx will be awesome when its finished be sure to get some pics up soon

Bash,
They have these pipes selling on ebay and a few other websites that come off the engine with either the stock manifold or come straight out the back of the truck. There are two types either single or dual pipes. There is little to no baffles in them but one pipe guy said he designed his to give a little nessesary backflow to the engine. They have no silencer so they can be very loud. I really don't care about the noise because I was told it is comparable to a good size chainsaw or a lawn mower.
Try this link. It might not work but if you type in "T-maxx Exhaust" in the ebay search engine you will see the different pipes.
This is the dual pipe link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...975690616&rd=1
This is the single pipe link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...975059768&rd=1
Also here is a pic of single and dual exhaust
Lemme know what you think.
Thanks
Rob

Hey im gonna upgrade my steering servo cause its a pos. im just wondering which one to get though. im not looking for a crazy one just enough to get me through probably less than 50 or 60 bucks. i dont race and i have a 5 cell hum so torque would be better than speed.

i also have anothe problem. when i accelerate slowly my car makes a jerking motion forward and then stops and keeps doing it untill i get more throttle, seriously i think it has epelipsy or turrets. its been doing it from when i got it. it doesnt effect performance or anything but its kinda annoying. im thinking its the clutch, and that when it engages, the car jerks forward with so much motion that it knocks the clutch disengaged again. not to sure what to do

My throttle servo is shot (I think). What is a good replacement servo? And about how much do they cost? Also should the steering servo be upgraded to a high torque servo? If so how much will that run? Thanks for the help.

Evader65, The reason for the jerking is because of the reverse module. It has a clutch type thing that engages at a certian rpm... I thought somethin was wrong with my maxx when i got it too... but it was just reverse. I put in a foc, and it accelerates so smoothly!

Most dual exhaust can and will damage your engine. Tuned pipes are designed in a special way and shape which those exhausts dont seem to adopt meaning they will run your engine extremely loud as if you have no header on your engine and as you may know running without a header can be harmful to an engine. For the same price you could purchase a nice t-maxx pipe that will increase performance, engine spped and revs and yet it doing no harm what so ever. For example this pipe http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...974971368&rd=1. Sorry to burst your bubble but its good that you now know that dual exhausts arent what they seem.

Yeah dont buy the junk pipes.[:'(] They do not have anything to give back pressure to the fuel system, without this pressure to help with thw flow of fuel you motor will run very lean and seem powerful, but it wont last long. Stick to the tuned pipes the fantom works is awesome it will give you an increase in power and noise.

Hey every one who loves their Maxx! I just got mine yesterday as my 2ed MT. AND I LOVE IT!!! I have broke it in and only had 1 problem with the one-way clutch(it was locking up but now fixed). I ran it hard today-no big "air" jumps but still high-speed laps, going though the gravel at the baseball diamond, and up some steep hills. I am having good time with it and I'm glad i went with it and not the Savage. You guys helped me make the right decision!!! Thanks.

low speed to rich??? once high speed is set do the low speed then idle then after that if still under powered make it shift later on the two speed that way RPM's get higher in first getting more power which should= a wheelie.
