Default Good vehicle for my son.

I am posting this here because I want to get my 8 year old son in law something to drive. What would you suggest. I am looking to get quality but at the same time the cheaper the better.

I'd like to get nitro. He drove my revo for a bit today and seems to understand that he has to take it easy.

Buy my Revo... If you do, though... you'd have to do it quick... already have a few offers...

an emaxx is an excellent beginers car/truck. it can take a beating. i have one. for someone that is learning how to drive it would be great due to the fact you can let him jsut keep it in 1st gear and let him have at it. since it will only go 10mph tops in first. second you will see maybe 23 with 6 cells. also easy to keep running for a kid.

The only problem is that he has about as long an attention span as I do, I don't like waiting for things to charge lol.

I have 2 - 7.2 volt 3200 mah batteries $26...... 1 battery last about 15 min. I also have the Mrc super brain 969 pro charger... I can charge both of those batteries in 20 mins or discharge one and charge the other at the same time or charge one in the same amount of time the other battery looses its charge from her driving the truck.

Considering he's only 8 that's not too bad, but keep in mind that if you buy him nitro you know who (spell: YOU) will be on the hot seat when there are problems, and with nitro there are always problems of one sort or another. It may be a PITA to wait for a battery to charge, but i taught my 8 year old nephew how to work a simple peak charger on the first try.

what you could do is buy you a new revo and give him your old one. ahhhhhhhhhh i love using that as an excuse to buy new toys. to keep him from breaaking grandma's ankles. redo the throttlee linkage so that he can't get full throttle maybe says half to 2/3's. better make it half forgot thye are still fast at that setting.

my wife wants one got her convinced that the nitro 4tec or the rs4 3 ss kit is the one. told her that i would paint her car body to match her favorite driver #42. my daughter she's 4 years old and she wants the jato. i told her i would paaint her's to match her barbie jeep.

lets see wife will play with her's for a bit get board and buy some clothes or scrap book crap. and my daughter well she just likes to sit with me and help me clean it and make sure i got a full beer. balme my wife for that one

LMMFAO That is hillarious. I'd let him drive it even with that SH in there. He is very mature for his age, and he doesn't give it a bunch of gas. Just gives her enough to get rollin, gooses it juuuuuuuust a bit and that's about it.

i know this is a traxxas forum but myabe look at the savage. it is slower, yea but the durability makes up for it. i heard that it is more durable than a revo. and i had a revo for lik 4 months and i never broke one part. i have the emaxx and it is kind of durable but not as much as the revo. i know electrics you have to charge but it is easier to maintain and if your trying to teach him stuff about them should you look at something he could learn how to do? like i said i had a revo and i had to hvae my step-dad work on it for me. i had no clue and i am 15. now i have a emaxx and i do everything myself. i just sat there watching him wrench on it and i was bored. now that i have to do it myself. it makes me take a little more care of it. lol. i mean its your cash you do what you want, but i would look towards something that you could teach him how to maintain and run w/o you by his side. i wish some of my family was into this stuff as much as me, but oh well cause i would be having to work on there crap all the time lol.
