Hey all i stripped my crankshaft and a new one is due here anyday this week, so i am making this thread to find out if it is possible for me to install it myself or would it be smart to let the hobby store do it. What do you guys think should i go at it myself and risk damaging my almost new os and if all goes well be able to drive straight after that OR should i let the hobbystore do it and who knows when they will be able to do it and when i will be able to pick it up.

If you guys think i should be able to do it my self please post some detailed steps of an installation procedure of an os 18 cv-rx crankshaft.

i would open it up and see if u can get your piston out. if you cant get it out let the hobby shop do it and ask them if they mess it up will they pay for it

yea that is a good idea. how did it strip cause i got the cvrxs and i dont see how it could strip

i cut the crank down to suit a maxx 2.5 and put the clutch nut on and it stripped.

next time you try it yourself, put the clutchnut on before you cut the crank, this way the nut will clean the threads out, and you wont strip the threads.

oh so it was ur falt. i thot it was a defect
i got the type s one and i di not have to cut. see if you can get that crank instead

I didnt know the s would work. O well its too late the standard shaft is on its way should be here sometime this week as it was shiped late last week.
