as a beginner... just replace or upgrade the parts you break (which will hardly be any) Don't go WOT into light poles... or brick walls... they don't like that. Break the engine in EXACTLY as Traxxas has said. (The 2.5r has a special break-in process that is specific to it) No matter what ANYONE says... break it in according to the manual/DVD. When you feel comfortable with your driving skills, then, I would start upgrading (new engine ... TM323 is a popular engine, new drivetrain improvements... FOC, clutch bell, spur gear, close/wide ratio gear set) If you plan on showing the truck more than playing with it... go with aluminum stuff... make it look good. Other than that, just fix it as it breaks, which probably won't be much...
