TOO LEAN DOES WHAT?
What does a motor run like or does it run at all if it has been run too lean and toasted? What is the result of a motor that has been run lean too much?

Seriously toasted, as in run many tanks on too lean settings?
Lessee ... Your gas contains oil that helps lube the engine. Leaning it too much causes overheat, and on top of that causes more friction due to too little oil. You're lucky if your engine doesn't sieze after a few tanks.
Gaskets can be ruined ... aw, heck ... it ruins the whole engine after a while. If it's still running it'll have spuratic performance. I think you can also tell how bad it is by certain discoloration of the top of the piston.
You can detect overheat by the way the engine sounds. If it sputters or loses power at high throttle, smokes at the head, etc.

RE: TOO LEAN DOES WHAT?
The biggest result of running an engine too lean for an extended period, assuming it doesn't sieze or blow up, will be loss of compression.
An engine with poor compression will run and be relitivily easy to start when cold. It will be very hard to tune, won't hold a tune and be very, very hard to start when it's hot.

Thanks Dave and Slowdriver. Yeah I was looking for a response like yours. I guess I should have asked "what is the long term effect of running too lean". But you must have understood, and answered my question. Members like Blackhawk4 are the only thing I dislike about these forums, theres always someone who has to let everyone know that he's an RC God through belittling remarks.

LOL...I'm kidding....if you want to have fun running instead wrenching you should read a lil more on 2 stroke nitro engines....I got the Ultimate Nitro Tuning guide book when I started out....it has answers to the questions you don't even know to ask...great book highly recommend picking it up and leave it next to the throne for a good excuse to be king for a while.....
