Default I know this comes up alot but...

For you T-Maxx guys. What is the best performing engine and biggest engine out there for our trucks. I have the 2.5 right now but when it goes I might try something else but I want you opinions. I am personally looking for a high torque high speed motor. I was looking at that 4 stroke setup but wasn't sure about that. So lets hear it.

I see a lot of people putting XTM engines on the T-maxx. If you're considering an XTM engine, get the XTM 457 or the 24.7 Pro. The 457 will be extremely powerful for a T-Maxx, but you said you wanted something powerful. XTM also makes an XTM big block conversion for the T-maxx, so its always something to look into.

Is the 457 a big block or will I be able to bolt that into place?

Also, are there any goods strong motors that will allow the use of the ez start? or am I better off getting the 3.3

Does anybody know what the cubic inches and hp actually are for the 2.5 and 3.3. I have never seen them advertised.

Novarossi 528 XR.

None of these, besides the Picco 26 Max, will drop in directly.

What!? Asking if Novarossi is any good? It is the best and expensive motor you can buy. especially the tuned ones like TNT Mods or EB Mods. Novas are high dollar Italian engines but I think the T-maxx cant handle all that power.

You see engines advertised at 3.8hp or sometimes even more (CEN 5hp) but that is all claimed. A dynometer tell the true HP. A moded Novarossi makes about 2.1hp on the dyno.

Just so you are aware, if you drop in a HUGE engine with lots of power, be prepared to replace diffs, trans parts and drive shafts. They won't last too long with a huge increase in power.

No true "Big-Block" drops right into a T-Maxx. You need a big block conversion, which is worth it I guess, but if you want a big block without having to convert anything, the closest thing would be the RB TM323/523 or the Picco .26. I have heard more bad things about the Picco then good, so I suggest the RB TM323/523.

BTW, I personally have a TRX 3.3 in my Revo, and I really like it. It is a really good engine for the price, and once mine kills itself(knock on wood), I am planning on getting another one. Or if I have the money, I will convert to a true big block.
