The opti-drive has nothing to do with the shift point from first to second gear. The 1st/2nd shift point is strictly a function of transmission rpm. And by association, engine rpm. Proper engine tuning and transmission adjustment are the biggest factors in transmission shifting.
The opti-drive only controls the shifting between forward and reverse. It also has a battery level function and the newer versions have a failsafe function too.
You can just remove the opti-drive and it's wiring and the truck will run just fine BUT you'll have to be sure to come to a complete stop before shifting between forward and reverse. There is no need to go with a FOC unless, for some reason, you want to get rid of reverse.

If you're positive that the tuning is on and the engine runnig right then the tranny needs more adjustment.

In any case, it's not the fault of the opti-drive that it's not shifting into second.

get rid of optidrive and get a throttle failsafe (you are can still keep reverse etc....)

run about half a tank to warm engine up (listen very closely to see if its shifting straight away) (it happended to me with a new t maxx once) if so just set the shift point later

that dont solve it lean the hsn till it wants to stutter at wot then turn hsn back richen 1/4 turn (or 1/8 for better performance and shorter engine life)

then see if it shifts into second

ok then if it is not shifting to soon and leaning hsn does not work adjust shift point earlier careful you dont over loosen it the screw could fall out

also is the screw getting tighter when you adjust shift point

tighter to turn (clockwise) shift later

looser to turn (anti clockwise) shift sooner

you could hold the gear from turning (hold spur gear and truck still)

loosen the screw all the way out so you can pull it out with wrench but only 1-2mm so it stays in hole but you know it is fully loose

then screw it in like 3-4 turns then see if it shifts then

with it being that loose it sounds it will be shifting to soon to me (and it can be easy to miss the shift that soon)

that had me stumped on my truck for days lol
